The Area
The Cartmel Peninsula is renowned for an array of Cumbrian food specialities. Within this small peninsula can be found many gastronomic delights;
Grange-over-Sands itself is home to some award winning shops. Some of our favourites have to be Higginsons Butchers and Pies makers (the name speaks for itself) and Choco-lori – where home-made chocolates are crafted by mother and daughter team Anne and Louise, from the finest Belgium chocolate – a real treat to take home for you and your friends and family.
Only a short bus or taxi ride away you can visit the charming village of Cartmel with it’s famous Sticky Toffee Pudding. Enjoy a dining experience like no other at the notorious L’Enclume restaurant belonging to Simon Rogan one of the most accomplished and well respected chefs in the UK.
Holker Hall and Gardens provides the setting for a relaxing day out and if you time it right you can chance your luck with a day at the races – Cartmel Racecourse is one of the most popular horse racing venues in the country.
